Invasive Carp and Monarch Butterflies
Books by the Conservation Tales Team from Spring of 2021
Created collaboratively with illustrators, a science education writer, and another graphic designer. This book highlights the need for conservation of the common carp and the monarch butterfly.
Photographer Exhibition Poster
Subtly calling to the shape of a butterfly’s chrysalis, this poster gives viewers a sneak peek to the photography of Abbey Jessup as well as inviting them to come view the exhibition of her work.
Character Diversity Poster
This diversity poster illustrates the effort that Conservation Tales places on showing diversity in character representation in each book. A variety of illustration styles are used, according to the artist who illustrates each book. The unique collection of ideas and perspectives enriches the readers’ knowledge of the subject and can also speak to the reader on a more personal level, creating a connection with the books.
Midwest II Series Logo
This logo was created collaboratively as a part of the Midwest II Series for the upcoming Conservation Tales books. The logo features monarch butterflies in three forms and Asian carp fish in movement, as they would be seen in nature. The logo is meant to realistically represent the animals together as well as being verified scientifically.
Made in collaboration with Sunnie Berning.
A Note on Conservation Tales design work
As the lead graphic designer for Conservation Tales,
I am able to promote the books and design content
that expresses the character and quality of the books
that are published. I am also currently working with
the team for the upcoming Sloths and Macaws books.
